There are
mainly two ways to add element to element repository:
1. By
recording test step
2. By adding
element explicitly to element repository (See my post about this here)
When recording
test step, the element interacted in the step will be added to element
repository automatically. In this case, test step maintains definition of
interacted element. Hence, the element will be deleted automatically from the element
repository when we delete all the recorded steps which interacted with that
element. In the auto generated meta data file (.tstest), you can find these
type of elements under Steps --> Step --> Element.
We can do
required updates here, they will reflect on element repository. This will help
to achieve some requirements which we can't achieve through TTS tool UI. You
can read one of such requirements here
By adding
element like this, if any coded step interacted with that deleted element then
it causes test case failure.
